Gerald Loster has developed an extensive background in “Family Law Matters” which has been his primary focus for over 3 decades of his legal practice.
Gerald grew up in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and completed his university education at the University of Saskatchewan receiving a Bachelor of Arts Degree (B.A.) and Bachelor of Law Degree (LL.B.). He was initially admitted to the Alberta Bar where his practice included criminal law, general civil litigation and family law. He was keen to live on the West Coast and moved with his family to Victoria, British Columbia where he has been practicing continuously since 1984.
After several years as a partner and associate in small and mid-size firms, Gerald chose to carry on as a sole practitioner and to focus primarily on his passion to assist people who are dealing with family law issues.
Gerald is also able to help you with matters relating to residential sales, purchases, and mortgages, as well as matters relating to Wills and Estates.
In Victoria, Gerald has made his niche in the Western Communities but is happy to assist clients with respect to any matters that are proceeding in both Provincial Court and Supreme Court Registries throughout Vancouver Island, generally.
Gerald is the proud father of 3 successful children and is now experiencing the pleasure and challenges of 7 grandchildren as well.
When he is not assisting his clients, Gerald has a further passion for road cycling and fitness, generally. He was a long-time member of the Greater Victoria Velodrome Association, has competed in local and seniors’ cycling events and has enjoyed many cycle-touring miles throughout and outside of Canada over the years.
Gerald is always available and dedicated to his clients, recognizing the importance of a fair, effective resolution of the emotional and financial issues that are inevitably involved in most family law matters. His keen desire to assist his clients is only surpassed by his dedication to his evolving family.
